04-14-25 - habits, excuses:
i'll make a promise in the public eye and vow to finish 1-2 of the books i'm currently reading before the week is out. there was a period not so long ago that i read with substantive intent. i'd tackle one book at a time, organizing my selection of titles by theme or author, being purposeful generally. i aim to reassume this posture.
i'm woefully flippant with such promise-making, though.
last week, this took the form of running regularly again, a habit i first attempted during covid, which was later paused when i moved to the city. occasionally since then i've run intermittently, usually per momentary health consciousness spurred in reaction to some memento mori (e.g., a bad hangover).
anyway, for the initial four days that i stuck to it, running was good. i took a break for the weekend while traveling between states and i'll resume things tomorrow.
so it'll be running and reading this week then. work, too, naturally.
